How to Reduce CNC Machining Cost
Most CNC cost sits in setups, tool changes, and over-specified tolerances — not just material.
1) Relax non-critical tolerances to ±0.1 mm where function allows. 2) Prefer 6061 over 7075 unless strength requires it. 3) Add internal radii so standard end mills can finish corners. 4) Combine features to reduce setups. 5) Choose as-machined finish when cosmetics are not required.
